26. accumulation (ə-kyüm'yə-lā'shən)
- a. (n.) Distribution. A collection of effort resulting in a completed product.
Example: Did you hear about that accumulation of Linux where the developers just threw a bunch of random stuff together and called it a distribution. Or did you read the latest accumulation of Make® magazine?
27. accumulotion (ə-kyüm'yə-lō'shən)
- a. (n.) The uncomfortably grotesque layer of slime that adorns the opening of a lotion dispenser.
28. ack (ăk)
- a. (interj.) An exclamation used when one is angry, upset, or choked up (literally or figuratively).
Example: Ack! I got an 'F' on this test... My parents are going to kill me.
29. acknodledge (ăk-nŏd-'lĭj)
- a. (v.) To nod at someone walking in the opposite direction while avoiding a conversation that can make one appear desperate or causing an awkward moment.
30. acluistic (ā-clü'ĭst-ĭc)
- a. (adj.) Describing or pertaining to anything clueless; without a clue.
- b. (adj.) A person or a group of people who don't know and don't know that they don't know.
Example: Car drivers are totally acluistic about the distance a tractor trailer requires to stop before being unable to hit them.
31. acroconvo (ăk'rə-kŏn'vō)
- a. (v.) A conversation, often face-to-face, held using a large concentration of acronyms, specifically acronyms used in text messaging, instant messaging, and online chatrooms.
Example: Brittany, Did you hear that acroconvo? They threw so many terms like OMG, LOL, SMH, and ROTFL around you could send a scrabble champion to the crazy house. Sarah: Do you realize you just turned this into an acroconvo by saying that?
32. ad-lab (ād'lāb)
- a. (v.) To invent the results of an experiment when one knows the results they got weren't exactly what they're supposed to be.
Example: We ad-labbed the chemistry experiment so the resulting graph would be a straight line.
33. addadictomy (ăd'ə-dĭk'tə-my)
- a. (n.) The medical procedure for changing a patient's sex from female to male.
34. addiggted (ə-dĭg'təd)
- a. (v.) Completely and totally addicted to Digg.
Example: You're so addiggted; back every few hours to see the newest articles.
35. addipted (ə-dĭpt'əd)
- a. (v.) Having the irresistible need to stay near the chip bowl.
Example: I'm totally addipted to this onion dip!
36. addiptive (ə-dĭp'tĭv)
- a. (v.) Describing something that traps oneself at the chip bowl.
Example: This French onion is totally addiptive!
37. adjectize (aj'ĭk-tīz')
- a. (v.) To describe thoroughly with an excessive, and often an unnecessary, amount of words.
38. adminisphere (ăd-mĭn'ĭs-fîr')
- a. (n.) The levels of management where big, impractical, and counterproductive decisions are made.
Example: The administration thought it'd be a good idea to replace all 700 of our servers with three mainframes as a way of speeding things up. I'm telling you, their brains don't get enough air in that adminisphere.
39. adoricious (ăd'ə-rĭsh'əs)
- a. (adj.) The quality of being able to be adored. Used in place of 'adorable' which often tends to imply cuteness as opposed to the ability to be adored. Useful when subject or a quality of the subject is endearing, but not necessarily cute.
40. adorkable (ə-dôrk'ə-bəl)
- a. (adj.) Equally adorable and dorky.
41. adultish (ə-dŭlt'ĭsh)
- a. (adj.) Closely resembling an adult person.
Example: As the child grew up she became more adultish.
42. adverteasement (ăd-vər-tēz'mənt)
- a. (n.) Any sexual representation used for the purpose of obtaining an individual or group's attention. Often used in media outlets.
43. advomentary (ād'və-měn'tə-rē)
- a. (n.) An advocacy documentary motion picture. An advomentary uses documentary production styles to promote a specific opinion or "spin". The objective of an advomentary is persuasion.
Example: Michael Moore is the godfather of the advomentary filmmmaking style which is both documentary and editorial.
44. aerodynamical (âr'ō-dī-năm'ĭ-kəl)
- a. (adj.) Described as attractive, or superiorly good looking.
Example: Ooh, check her out. She is so aerodynamical.
45. aeroma (âr-ō'ma)
- a. (n.) The odor emanating from an exercise room after an aerobics workout.
46. aeromortiphobia (âr'ə-môr'tə-fō'bē-ə)
- a. (v.) The fear of death while traveling by aircraft.
Example: The innocent victims on the two airplanes that crashed into the Twin Towers may have experienced momentary aeromortiphobia when they realized they were in fact, mortal creatures.
47. aeropalmics (âr-o-päm-ĭks)
- a. (n.) The study of wind resistance conducted by holding a cupped hand out the car window.
48. aerothanatophobia (âr'ə-thăn'ə-tō-fō'bē-ə)
- a. (v.) The fear of death while traveling by aircraft.
Example: George has a severe case of aerothanatophobia. We have to knock him out before we even reach the airport, then we wheel him into his seat and pray the drugs last longer than the flight.
49. aesthete's foot (ĕs-thēts fut)
- a. (n.) The chronic condition whereby one's socks match one's shirt without fail.
50. againda (ə-gěn'də)
- a. (n.) The resubmitting of an agenda that was refused at least once before.
Example: This is the third straight election where the electorate has refused the liberal againda.
