51. hu (hyü')

  1. a. (pron.) A 3rd person gender-neutral pronoun. Its brevity and morphological structure (one open syllable: a consonant + a vowel) make it similar to other 3rd person pronouns -- a typical, easily recognizable member of this class: he - she - hu.

    Examples:
    An employee may choose to cover only huself and hus child or any number of children.

    It's the vice-president's job to support the president and take hus place when hu is away.

    A hero is one who places huself at risk for another.

    Hu that has ears to hear, let hu hear.

    It should be the chief aim of a university professor to exhibit huself in hus own true character - that is, as an ignorant human thinking, actively utilizing hus small share of knowledge.

    An introvert can easily become an extrovert when it is advantageous for hu to do so.

52. humilify (hyü-mĭl'ĭ-fī')

  1. a. (v.) Gently humiliating; putting someone in their place by citing an example of their incompetence.

53. humography (hyü'mŏg'rə-fē)

  1. a. (n.) A funny story that is only funny to those who were there. If told anywhere else, or at a different time, it becomes dull.

54. humongify (hyü-mŏng'gə-fī')

  1. a. (v.) To make extremely large or enormous.

    Example: On the big screen, that girl's posterior was humongified by a factor of ten!

55. humstinker (hŭm-stĭnk'ər)

  1. a. (n.) One that is extraordinary or remarkably smelly, and who has probably never thought of using deodorant in a considerably long time.

56. humy (hyü'mē)

  1. a. (n.) Abbreviated and affectionate name of a human, implying smallness; A human being as a partner or a pet of creatures with artificial intelligence.

    Example: For somebody as smart as this humy, you have to wonder why it cannot escape death.

57. hydroholic (hī'drə-hô'lĭk)

  1. a. (n.) A person who is addicted to water. This person must drink at least two litres (approx. eight cups) of water a day, and, in order to match their mood, choose bottled water based on flavor and mineral content.

58. hypnoxia (hĭp-nŏk'sē-ə)

  1. a. (n.) A condition described as having extremely irritating qualities.

    Example: Man, she's hypnoxious! I don't know anyone with a worse case of hypnoxia.

59. hypothecary (hī-pŏth'ĭ-kâr'ē)

  1. a. (n.) A person, usually a college professor, so convinced of his or her own intellectual superiority that he or she feels things like the truth are beneath them. Often attempts to expound their own virtue with so-called hypotheses that bear only superficial resemblance to science, reality, or religion.
