  1. a. (n.) Any useless information a mother gives her child; formally called old wives' tales.

    Example: "So what mumism have you learned today?" "If you eat carrots you will be able to see in the dark."

  1. a. (n.) A mentally challenged or handicapped individual who shares the actions and personality traits of a Jim Henson puppet creation.

    Example: "Everything was going fine at our date until I took my last bite of chowder and got murphyglobules all over."
