1. advomentary (ād'və-měn'tə-rē)
- a. (n.) An advocacy documentary motion picture. An advomentary uses documentary production styles to promote a specific opinion or "spin". The objective of an advomentary is persuasion.
Example: Michael Moore is the godfather of the advomentary filmmmaking style which is both documentary and editorial.
2. anime (ăn'ə-mā)
- a. (n.) Japanimation; Japanese Animation; A type of cartoon in which the characters usually have large eyes and small noses.
Example: Is Pokemon an anime or a regular cartoon?
This word is already defined in most mainstream dictionaries dating back to the mid-1990's
3. aybing (ī'bĭng)
- a. (n.) The act of posting an "All Your Base" parody.
4. bactor (băk-tər)
- a. (pron.) A bad actor.
5. bactress (băk-trĭs)
- a. (pron.) A bad actress.
6. BAV (băv)
- a. (acro.) Bad Action Video.
Example: All the Norris and Seagal movies I've seen are BAVs.
7. bedittle (bə-dĭ'təl)
- a. (n.) A increasingly common phrase and game that is played on road trips. The objective of the game is to beat one's companions in calling out this phrase whenever spotting another car with mismatched headlights. Generally, dimmers do not count. The winner is the person who calls out the most bedittles first on the trip.
8. bitsing (bĭt-sĭng)
- a. (v.) The act of singing only small portions of songs, usually repeatedly. Variations include, bithum and bitspeak.
Example: If you are going to bitsing, at least get the words right!
9. cinemuck (sĭn'ə-mŭk)
- a. (n.) The sticky substance on the floor of movie theaters.
10. dark matter song (därk măt'ər sŏng)
- a. (n.) A song of such awfulness that it alone outweighs the rest of an artist or band's body of work.
Example: "Shiny Happy People" is REM's dark matter song and "Walk of Life" is Dire Straits'.
11. déjà view (dā-zhä vyü)
- a. (n.) A phenomenon that occurs after one watches a television show for the first time, then doesn't watch it again for a while. When they watch the show again later, the station happens to be re-airing the one episode they had already seen.
12. the dirty bin (thə dûr'tē bĭn)
- a. (n.) A large bin of discount products such as unwanted toys or DVDs that can be found at large supermarkets.
13. discorsage (dĭs'kôr-säzh')
- a. (v.) Removal of a corsage.
- b. (v.) To remove decorative flowers from someone.
14. dject (dē-jĕkt)
- a. (v.) The overwhelming urge of a music connoisseur to wait until the end of the currently playing song before changing the song or ejecting the compact disc.
Example: Just wait for a moment while I dject this CD and put on something else.
15. edutainjugal (ĕj´ə-tân´jə-gəl, ĕj´ə-tân´jü-gəl)
- a. (adj.) Salacious material presented on mass media as educational and consumed as entertainment by its audience.
16. eiffelite (ī'f`l-īt')
- a. (n.) A gangly person sitting in front of you at the movies who, no matter what direction you lean in, follows suit.
17. elbonics (el'bŏn'ĭks)
- a. (n.) The actions of two people maneuvering for one arm rest in a movie theater.
18. emo (ē-mō)
- a. (n.) Abbreviated from "emotive hardcore", relating to a genre of music coined due to a band's usage of emotional and personal lyrics.
- b. (adj.) An individual who is a follower of emo music.
Example: You're so emo. - c. (adj.) A style of dress used by followers of 'emo'. This dress sense includes trucker caps, long fringes for boys, short hair for girls, black clothes and tight trousers.
Example: Those emo trousers are kickin'.
19. enterstainment (ĕn'tər-stān'mənt)
- a. (n.) Dubious, dreadful entertainment which leaves one feeling stained.
Example: The enterstainment value of that R-rated movie was quite high.
20. fanaddict (făn'ə-dĭkt)
- a. (n.) One who insists on sleeping with a fan on during cold weather while taking refuge under blankets.
- b. (n.) A regular viewer of any celebrity news television syndication.
21. fictate (fĭk'tāt)
- a. (v.) To inform a television or screen character of impending danger under the assumption they can hear you.
22. flake (flāk)
- a. (n.) Slang. A knock-off production or product made to appear as good as the superior work or product from which it came.
Example: This grocer's brand orange juice is just a flake made from a powder mix.
23. gamovation (gă'mō-vâ-shən)
- a. (n.) The tendency to play a game, more frequently involving car racing, and physically move the way the car is moving on the television screen.
24. gank (găngk)
- a. (v.) To take for one's self; to steal a part of a song from another song and pretend it's one's own.
Example: "You totally ganked that chord progression from Ace of Base."
25. Gibbonism (gĭb'ən-ĭz-əm)
- a. (n.) A word or phrase said, heard, or otherwise related to the character, Peter Gibbons, from the hit movie, Office Space. Such phrases lend themselves well to spice up otherwise dull or unproductive office meetings and can be used to mock the few co-workers who have not seen Office Space.
