51. IMbiguity (ī-ĕm-bĭ-gyü'ĭ-tē)
- a. (n.) Ambiguity caused by the nature of instant messaging and its lack of tone, context, or other visual expressions.
52. inebrionics (ĭn-ē'brē-ŏn'ĭks)
- a. (n.) A nonstandard form of American English spoken by individuals under the extreme influence of mind altering chemicals, usually indigenous to certain stretches of sidewalks and public establishments.
53. infinition (ĭn'fə-nĭ-shən)
- a. (n.) An infinite process of defining something that cannot be fully or precisely defined; an endless list of possible definitions.
Example: Certain fluid concepts in their emergent state are subject to infinition--infinite dispersal of their meaning--rather than to definition. To infine is to suggest the infinity of possible definitions of a certain term or concept and therefore to problematize its meaning and the possibility or the benefit of defining it. If definition circumscribes a specific conceptual area, then infinition releases the concept from restricting demarcations and places it in an indeterminate zone.
54. interrobang (!?) (ĭn-tĕr'ə-băng)
- a. (n.) A combination of a question mark and an exclamation point or the appearance of both right next to each other.
Example: "What do you think you're doing!?"
55. Japlish (jăp'lĭsh)
- a. (n.) The mistranslation of Japanese words or phrases into English.
- b. (adj.) Of or relating to a language in which both English and Japanese words are used together in order to express a meaning.
56. junkword (jŭngk-wûrd)
- a. (n.) Any word or unword submitted to a slang or unword dictionary that is either already a real word or is not worthy of being called an unword.
Example: Some junkwords are: Cute (a real word), Vanessishot (meaning "Vanessa is hot", appears to be created out of drunkenness and is not very useful in many situations. How many Vanessas do you know?)
57. leet (lēt)
- a. (adj.) Elite.
Example: That new source code is leet!
58. leetspeak (lēt-spēk)
- a. (n.) A form of written, and sometimes verbal, language used in the realm of savvy computer users, hackers and kiddies. In written language, words are often spelled with a portion of numeric symbols used to represent similarly looking letter counterparts.
Example: 1337, l337 and l33t are three common ways the term leet is spelled in leetspeak.
59. lingoist (lĭng-gō'ĭst)
- a. (n.) A specialist in the area of lingo terms. Often, these individuals lose touch with society purely because they refer to ordinary things using shortened phrases and acronyms.
Example: Have you ever spoken to Joe, the lingoist? I can't understand a single thing he's talking about.
60. mangaphile (män'gə-fīl)
- a. (n.) A person infatuated with manga. Can also be used as an insult in the case of hentai manga.
Example: My roommate is such a mangaphile!
61. narf (närf)
- a. (interj.) The uncontrollable sound an idiot might make.
- b. (interj.) An exclamation emitted when one's brain farts and sound deploys.
- c. (interj.) The word used when no other words will suffice.
62. noggalien (nŏg-āl'yən)
- a. (n.) One who frequently makes total misstatements in a different language.
Example: Teacher: "Repeat after me, 'Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?'" Student: "'Cuando et su cupleamos?' Oh, I am such a noggalien!"
63. nonedex (nŭn'dĕks, nŏn'dĕks)
- a. (adj.) Lacking an index; describing a book that is hard to navigate due to the lack of an index.
Example: "Where is the index in this book?" "It must be a nonedex book."
64. papertexting (pā'pər-tĕkst'ĭng)
- a. (v.) To jot down a note on a scrap of paper, take a camera phone snapshot of it, and picture message (MMS) it over to a friend; often more expressive and expensive than regular SMS text.
65. plotbunny (plŏt'bŭn-ē)
- a. (n.) A tempting idea for a story that hares off into strange territory upon pursuit. Known for breeding rapidly and dividing a writer's attention to the point of achieving nothing at all.
Example: "I've been trying to write a story, but I've been cursed by an infestation of plotbunnies."
66. plothole (plŏt-hōl)
- a. (n.) A rough spot in a storyline; a storyline that doesn't quite work, like a pothole is to a road.
67. plotician (plŏt-tĭ'shən)
- a. (n.) One who devotes their career to the elimination and repair of plotholes.
- b. (n.) One who can only perform an action if it has been done in a movie or book.
68. plotistical (plŏ'tĭs-tĭ-kəl)
- a. (adj.) Of or according to the main events of a play, novel, movie, or similar work, devised and presented by the writer as an interrelated sequence.
Example: This looks like the work of a plotistical murderer.
69. poety (pō'ĭt-ē)
- a. (adj.) poetry-like; something closely resembling the work of a poet. Often used derogatorily to describe bad poetry, rap, and self-indulgent spoken word sessions.
70. preambulance (prē-ăm'byə-ləns)
- a. (n.) A vehicle equipped for helping those with writer's block.
71. preambulator (prē-ăm'byə-lāt'ər)
- a. (n.) One who makes a living by writing introductions or forewords to other documents.
72. pronuncilexia (prə-nŭn'sə-lĕk'sē-ə)
- a. (n.) A condition where the sufferer chronically mispronounces words to a high degree, by inserting or omitting sounds after the first letter.
Example: Those striken with pronuncilexia sometimes pronounce (among others) "oriented" as "ôr-ē'ən-tā'tĕd", "carapace" as "car-sĭ'pĭs", "pronounce" as "prə-nŭn'sē-āt'".
73. protologism (prō'tŏl'ə-gĭz-əm)
- a. (n.) A newly created word which has not yet gained any wide acceptance. It is a prototype or a hypothetical projection of a new lexical unit before it may become current in writing or speech. This word is self-defining as an example of itself.
74. publishedy (pŭb'lĭsh'tē)
- a. (adj.) Describing one who is either showing off that they've been published, or who is busy promoting their published work.
Example: Steve is being very publishedy with his new book.
75. schnelling (sh-nĕl-ĭng)
- a. (v.) The act of adding a comically bad German accent; Injecting the following words or non-words into conversation: "yah, unst, dah, isnt, yavol, uber, dost", etc.; Adding a 'z' sound to any noun.
Example: Chris was schnelling all evening saying such things as, "z'telephone ist whreening, yah!"
