  1. a. (adj.) The color produced when mixing blue and yellow, used when green is just too mundane a word.

2. blurple (blûr'pəl)

  1. a. (n.) A color described as a mix between blue with purple.

3. coinophony (koin'ŭ-fō'nē)

  1. a. (n.) Annoying pocket concerts that people make when they jingle keys and loose change around.

4. dark matter song (därk măt'ər sŏng)

  1. a. (n.) A song of such awfulness that it alone outweighs the rest of an artist or band's body of work.

    Example: "Shiny Happy People" is REM's dark matter song and "Walk of Life" is Dire Straits'.

5. defugalty (dē-fyü'gəl-tē )

  1. a. (n.) A sound that has had its musical fugue styling removed.

6. dject (dē-jĕkt)

  1. a. (v.) The overwhelming urge of a music connoisseur to wait until the end of the currently playing song before changing the song or ejecting the compact disc.

    Example: Just wait for a moment while I dject this CD and put on something else.

7. emo (ē-mō)

  1. a. (n.) Abbreviated from "emotive hardcore", relating to a genre of music coined due to a band's usage of emotional and personal lyrics.
  2. b. (adj.) An individual who is a follower of emo music.

    Example: You're so emo.
  3. c. (adj.) A style of dress used by followers of 'emo'. This dress sense includes trucker caps, long fringes for boys, short hair for girls, black clothes and tight trousers.

    Example: Those emo trousers are kickin'.

8. flake (flāk)

  1. a. (n.) Slang. A knock-off production or product made to appear as good as the superior work or product from which it came.

    Example: This grocer's brand orange juice is just a flake made from a powder mix.

9. foxymoron (fŏk'sē-môr'ŏn')

  1. a. (n.) A band name.
  2. b. (n.) A member of the opposite sex blessed with beauty and cursed with stupidity, whose presence causes contradictory feelings of attraction and repulsion.

10. gank (găngk)

  1. a. (v.) To take for one's self; to steal a part of a song from another song and pretend it's one's own.

    Example: "You totally ganked that chord progression from Ace of Base."

11. Gerardgasm (jûr-rärd'găz'əm)

  1. a. (n.) Feelings of ecstasy one might get from hearing singer Gerard Way.

12. guitarded (gĭ-tärd-ĕd)

  1. a. (adj.) One who owns a guitar and displays it prominently to make oneself appear more attractive, even though they have no idea how play.

13. jampage (jăm'pāj')

  1. a. (v.) The screaming and dancing rampage one goes on when they jam or stub a body part on a household object.
  2. b. (n.) A jamming session that is rampageous enough to make the listener believe that the musician is crazy.

14. jazams (jăz'əmz')

  1. a. (n.) A music composition.

    Example: I'm listening to some jazams.

15. megapixures (mĕg'ə-pĭks'ərs)

  1. a. (n.pl.) Pictures taken with a digital camera or prints made from digital files.

16. nerd hero (nûrd hîr'ō)

  1. a. (n.) Any nerd-core artist or enthusiast who pretends to have mad skills with a guitar by displaying his/her Guitar Hero® guitar controller during concert, or by demonstrating his excellence in game.

17. octavize (ŏk-tĭv-īz')

  1. a. (v.) To write musical parts in octaves; to make musical parts to be in octaves.

    Examples:
    The composer octavized the part to make it richer.

    Yes, I will octavize that part later.

18. peppupop (pĕp'ü-pŏp)

  1. a. (n.) Contemporary music with a lively beat that is particularly energizing and uplifting to listen to; may also have overly happy or fluffy lyrics.

    Example: I listen to Smile.DK when I need a dose of peppupop.

19. Rockter scale, The (rŏk'tər skāl)

  1. a. (n.) A scale from 1 to 10 measuring the seismic force of a particular gig. 10 on the Rockter scale would be a gig that caused localised geological upheaval. 1 would be Culture Club.

    Example: The We Are Scientists gig on Saturday was definitely an 8 on the Rockter scale.

20. Sydnocentric (sĭd'nō-sĕn'trĭk)

  1. a. (adj.) Attitude peculiar to residents of Sydney that asserts that only events and objects based within Sydney have any cultural worth.
