1. (v.) To review printed material quickly, looking for obvious errors. Process usually used by editors.
Origins: Based on the procedures used by employees of the US Bureau of Printing and Engraving, mainly the Women At the Mint (WAM), who visually scan the sheets of uncut money for mistakes.
Example: Before the catalog goes to press, I want to WAM it one more time.
