1. (v.) The fear of death while traveling by aircraft.
Origins: From Greek aero-, the air, thanato-, death, and -phobia, fear. See also aeromortiphobia.
Example: George has a severe case of aerothanatophobia. We have to knock him out before we even reach the airport, then we wheel him into his seat and pray the drugs last longer than the flight.
