(jə-něr'ē-āt'rĭks)
1. (n.) The behaviors and shopping habits of an elderly person who, due to living on a fixed income, can no longer afford to buy name-brand merchandise.
Origins: From generic and theatrics, suggesting the sale of generic-brand products hinders one's ability to quickly get in and out of stores.
