  1. 1. (n.) An aphorism that has passed away as truth and is now reborn as metaphor.

    Origins: A play on the word aphorism and grave signifying its death or passing on, specifically referring to old sayings that no longer have relevance to modern life.

    Example: "A penny saved is a penny earned." "Who cares? It's a penny! Quit lecturing me with your graveorisms."
