Definition of irregardless :.
(ĭr'ĭ-gärd'lĭs)
1. (adv.) Junkword. Regardless. The blending of irrespective and regardless. Although this is not correct usage of the word, it has been in widespread use as far back as 1927 when this American speech was taken note of by usage commentators.
Origins: While this word has only been in circulation for under 100 years, Webster's and the American Heritage dictionaries have accepted it as synonymous with regardless, an insult to our Latin roots. While the desire of this submission is to gain acceptance of this definition, we will be tossing it to the wayside in an attempt at having it removed from the English language.
