Definition of lasterday :.

(lăs'tūr-dā)

  1. 1. (n.) The day prior to the present day.

Origins: Supposedly coined by someone's grandson at a preschool age, circa 1989.

Notes: First official citation in the book, "There's A Word for It", by Charles Harrington Elster. Earlier uses have been found from the band "Happy Flowers" on their 1990 album, "Lasterday I Was Been Bad". The band bio suggests that the narating member had used the word as a child, so uses may have been as far back as the late 1960's. Charles Elster suggested changing the definition to read, "Any day or time period prior to yesterday."
