We just set this page up to address some issues that user may have questions about. The list may be short right now, but we'll be working to get as much as we can on here. If your problem isn't on this page, you can contact us and we'll pose a solution.
Problem: Unwords Looks Bad on my Browser :.
Solution: We just implemented a feature to allow for per-browser tweaking, so if our site doesn't look good on your browser, let us know what browser you're using and we'll add a tweak for your browser. Although this is a little more work for us, we can better server you and make your experience here as good as it can get. If yours looks good and it's not on this list, send us some feedback so we can improve our list. Current browsers that we've tested on:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
- Netscape Navigator 4.75
- Mozilla 1.2 (Mozilla/5.0)
- Opera 7
Problem: I Get A Message As Follows :.
"Action Failed! Action, actionname, may not exist..."
Solution: Unwords is designed to handle its websites based on action names, so for one action name you'll get the homepage, and for another, you'll get a definition. If you receive this message, it may be that we have taken down or are putting up a new page in that place. It may also mean that there was a misinterpretation when the server wrote the url for a particular action. It also could mean that you were messing around trying to find actions that we haven't publicized. In the latter case, you won't find one because our development site is separate from the live site. If you were just browsing, and came across this message, please contact the webmaster and specify what the action was, and what page you were on before you received the message. This will help us work out any bugs we managed to miss when we last updated the site.
Problem: I'm Not Getting E-mails From Unwords.com :.
Solution: We recently switched our services over to a new mail system that provides us with spam filtering and
other protective services like blacklisting. You may not be able to send us an email if your ISP or mail server has been
blacklisted, or if you send us something that looks even remotely like spam. If you are having trouble sending us an
email, please feel free to leave a message in our forums regarding your problem.
In the event that you're not getting e-mails such as password requests, please contact us and we will use an alternate method
to mail you your new password. This will only be approved if you use the same e-mail address as you did when signing
up.
Problem: I submitted a word but I wasn't credited for it :.
Solution: You will not see your name listed in the general alphabetical lists because we believe it would take up too much space on those pages. You can select each word and view more information about each definition including its topic, submitter, and potentially other details. If you selected the checkbox to submit completely anonymously, you won't receive credit for the word. If you forgot to log in, your definition will be submitted anonymously and you won't get credit for it. If you specified in your profile that you don't want to receive credit for the words you submit, your submissions will show up under a masked user. You can de-select the option to keep your definitions anonymous and you will then get credit for them. If you still believe you didn't get credit for a word you submitted, please either submit it again after logging in, or e-mail the webmaster with your acount name and the word that you know you submitted but didn't receive credit for. Please be sure to click on the individual word in order to view who is credited for the word.
